Fotis Dulos, the Connecticut man arrested in connection to the disappearance and possible homicide of his estranged wife, has hired a high-profile attorney to defend him.

Dulos, 51, has retained attorney Norm Pattis, the same lawyer defending controversial radio show host Alex Jones in his defamation case, the Hartford Courant reports.

“Trial by innuendo has convicted my client,” Pattis said on Saturday, according to the outlet. “We will opt for a trial by jury.”

Pattis also called the case "unusual," according to Hartford's FOX61

“I’m not seeing a murder here," he said. "I’m not necessarily sure I see the tampering, but I’ll get a chance to review some of the evidence this week and I’m looking forward to it.”

Following the disappearance of New Canaan mother Jennifer Dulos last month, police turned their attention onto Dulos, as the two were in the midst of a heated divorce and custody dispute when Jennifer went missing on May 24. Fotis Dulos and his girlfriend, 44-year-old Michelle Troconis, were arrested earlier this month for evidence tampering and hindering prosecution, but have not yet entered pleas.

While Troconis has bonded out (and has been meeting with police), Dulos has remained in police custody at the Bridgeport Correctional Center since his June 1 arrest, having been unable to cover his $500,000 bail, according to the Courant. Pattis confirmed to the outlet Saturday that he will be representing Dulos during his arraignment Tuesday at Stamford Superior Court.

Jennifer Dulos, a mother of five, was last seen dropping her kids off at school. Her friends reported her missing after she missed a number of appointments, and her car was found, without her inside it, later that same day, the New Canaan Police Department said.

Investigators later found evidence of blood splatter at Jennifer Dulos’ home, as well as evidence that the house had recently been cleaned, leading authorities to conclude that the missing mother may have been the victim of a violent crime, according to a report from the Hartford Courant.

Police allege that two people matching the description of Fotis Dulos and Troconis were captured on surveillance video dumping a number of garbage bags in various locations around town following Jennifer's disappearance. Authorities later recovered items in those bags, including a kitchen sponge, that they say contained Jennifer Dulos’ blood.

Detectives, with K-9 dogs in tow, traveled again to a trash facility in Hartford on Sunday to search for more bags that they believe Fotis Dulos and Troconis dumped the day that Jennifer went missing, the Hartford Courant reports.

Meanwhile, the Dulos children are in the care of Jennifer Dulos’ mother, Gloria Farber, and are being watched over by an armed guard, according to a report from the Stamford Advocate.
